Bill was born and raised in Petersburg, Ontario Canada with happy childhood experiences growing up on Buckhorn Lake with his parents and three older brothers . He was a world class windsurfing racer, accomplished artist and musician. Most of his family members are gifted with the art of painting. Bill established his career rapidly in Canada. His style has been compared to Tom Tomson, perhaps the most famous Canadian artist of the "Group of Seven". One of the most admired techniques of his painting is his use of shadows which sometimes look like they havde come alive.

He has an eye for composition and his use of color is bold and accurate. Most of his work is created from the quick images he takes from his camera. "There are so many wow moments on Maui, it's a challenge to capture it." "My goal is to create Maui memories on canvas for folks to enjoy when they aren't here on the island."
